I had a misunderstanding with a photographer and was waiting for him to send pics before posting about this round – it’s a month after the end of the season and I STILL haven’t received a single pic from this guy!!
So I can’t remember all of what went on but it was reverse Alien layout and I crashed out on turn 3 of lap 1 in the Am Old Folks qualifier! I had got into the lead off the start and felt pressured by the fast guys behind so went in too hot and then just drifted wide until I hit the gravel and tucked the front end. The bike was just scraped up but so was my Shoei helmet that they wouldn’t let me use anymore, I was not happy about that – had to use the spare Icon Airflite that fits nice but makes a lot of noise. The crash sapped my confidence in turn 3 – I was almost a second slower on Sunday, it’s hard to tell from the videos but I find the entry to be a bit weird and tough to find a good line. There were a lot of crashes at that same corner over the weekend, including Heather!
