Stu

Reverse Alien layout, this is the only time we do reverse direction so I put the Pirelli scrub on the rear to try – it’s not supposed to be flipped so this is the only chance to really wear the left side.

Thursday KSR track day

We met Rick in the morning- it was his first time back on a track in about 40 years! Super nice guy who had a nice GSXR750 and a mint Ducati 749. Our sessions went well but my #2 blue bike was running hot losing coolant again. Danny loaned me his AIM Solo2 but I couldn’t find a way to securely mount it so I didn’t run it – I need to 3D print a spacer for it.

Saturday Qualifying

On Friday I decided to run the #1 red bike because of the potential coolant issue on the other bike so we swapped the steering damper, rear-sets and wheels over. Josh was 0.1s faster than me in morning practice, darn I was hoping that it would take him a bit longer to catch me, LOL but I still had fun chasing Glen Mackay around.

I had a great race in Am OF and finished 3rd, my best finish so far! Also had a great race with Melanie Newman in Lost Era Lightweight but overcooked it going into the left hander at the end of the straight and came in 9th.

Sunday Race

In LE Lt there was a gap in front of me on the grid that I was able to shoot into, then had a few good battles but couldn’t fend off a pass by Melanie Newman on the last lap and then I ran out of opportunity to pass back and ended up 7th.
So close to a podium finish in Am OF! I got a good start off the front row and was running a decent pace but just couldn’t make up enough ground to push for a pass on 3rd place.

SOAR Round 2

Recap from SOAR Round 2! Am600 went as I thought it would, hectic and riding for survival. Great practice for being around lots of bikes and quickly reacting to others movements. Ended up finishing 17/25 which I’m happy with as that race is more for becoming comfortable being that close […]
